Senior Mechatronics Engineer
Job Purpose:
You will be part of a dynamic R&D team working on the development of new systems.
Job Duties:
- Develop and design complex electro-mechanical systems, incorporating microcontroller-based control systems, including under ISO 13485 and 21CFR820.
- Create and review electrical schematics and circuit diagrams, ensuring compliance with industry standards and product requirements.
- Apply control theory principles to design and implement advanced control algorithms for precise and efficient system operation.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams, such as mechanical, electrical, and software, to drive effective communication, collaboration, and timely delivery of project milestones.
- Conduct regular project status meetings, providing updates on progress, addressing challenges, and identifying potential risks or issues.
- Troubleshoot and debug hardware and software issues, employing comprehensive knowledge of microcontroller architectures and debugging tools and efficiently identifying workable solutions.
- Generate and analyze data from various sensors and actuators to evaluate system performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Develop and implement algorithms to process sensor data and enable intelligent decision-making within the electro-mechanical product.
- Define and execute testing procedures, tools, and fixtures to ensure product functionality, reliability, and compliance with product requirements and quality standards.
- Identify potential failure modes within the electro-mechanical system and develop appropriate corrective actions to mitigate risks and ensure product reliability.
- Establish and maintain effective documentation and reporting practices, including design specifications, test plans, progress reports, and project documentation.
- Design and develop mechanical subsystems.
- Create and review functional requirements, schematics, and mechanical constraints for PCBs.
- Develop and maintain software for motor control.
- Build prototype systems ensuring the effective integration of mechanical, electrical, and software components.
- Coordinate with other departments (Mechanical, Electrical, and Software) to resolve issues and continuously improve the product.
- Create and maintain relevant engineering documentation.
- Conduct research to stay up to date on emerging technologies in multiple disciplines.
Experience/Skills:
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, mechatronics, electrical, software or controls engineering or a related field, or foreign academic equivalent.
One year of experience in the job offered or in mechanical, electrical, software or controls engineering involving electromechanical systems and developing medical or laboratory equipment.
Salary Range: $116,000/year – $119,000/year
Hours: 40 hours/week, 8:30am – 5:00pm
